Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground chuck
  • ½ cup crushed saltine crackers (or Panko breadcrumbs)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  2. Mix by hand until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  3. Press the mixture into a disk and divide into six 1/3-pound patties or twelve thinner patties.
  4. Shape patties slightly larger than burger buns and create a dent in the center of each patty.
  5. Preheat grill or skillet to medium heat (350-400°F).
  6. Grill or fry thicker patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or thinner patties for 2 minutes each side.

Notes

Store cooked patties in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat gently in the oven or stovetop.
