Description

This bloody popcorn with candy bones is the ultimate Halloween snack – crunchy, sweet, and just a bit creepy. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or even as scary-themed favors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups popped popcorn (about bags microwave popcorn)
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 3 tbsp light corn syrup
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 pkg (3 oz) JELL-O Raspberry, Cherry, or Strawberry flavor gelatin
  • 2 tbsp Wilton Jumbo Bones candy

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F. Line a large baking sheet (15x10x1-inch) with foil, parchment, or a silicone mat to prevent sticking.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and corn syrup over low heat. Stir in the brown sugar and gelatin powder until completely dissolved.
  3. Increase the heat to medium, bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often until thick and glossy.
  4. Quickly pour the hot gelatin mixture over the popcorn in a large bowl, tossing to coat evenly and work fast as the mixture hardens quickly.
  5. Spread popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet, using two forks to break into clusters. Bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Immediately after baking, sprinkle candy bones over the top, gently pressing them into the popcorn. Let cool completely.
  7. Break into bite-size pieces and store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

Notes

For a spooky touch, add black food coloring to the ‘blood’. If no bones are available, use white chocolate chips or mini marshmallows instead.
