Description

Delightful chocolate chip cookies with festive sprinkles, perfect for Halloween and sharing with family.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (67 g)
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar (100 g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled, 186 g)
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/23/4 cup Halloween sprinkles
  • Candy eyes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar, stirring until smooth and creamy.
  2. Blend in the vanilla extract and egg, mixing until fully incorporated.
  3. Gradually add in the flour, salt, and baking soda. Begin on low speed, then increase for 15-30 seconds until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix!
  4. Gently fold in the Halloween sprinkles and chocolate chips using a spatula or large spoon.
  5. Scoop out 2-tablespoon balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1.5 to 2 hours, or up to 24 hours.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350℉.
  7. Place the chilled dough balls on a lined baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each.
  8. Bake for 11-13 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. If using candy eyes, gently press them into the warm cookies right after pulling them from the oven.
  10. Let the cookies cool, then enjoy!

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake them. Experiment with different chocolate chips or add nuts for variety.
