Description
A tantalizing dish of chicken breasts filled with a creamy mushroom and herb mixture, perfect for cozy family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella or cheddar)
- 1 tablespoon fresh herbs (e.g., parsley or thyme)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped mushrooms and minced garlic, and sauté until the mushrooms are tender, about 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the sautéed mushrooms with the cream cheese, shredded cheese, herbs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Cut a pocket in each chicken breast, carefully opening it but not cutting all the way through, and fill each with the mushroom mixture.
- Place the stuffed chicken breasts in a baking dish, ensuring they are snug but not overcrowded.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear when pierced with a knife.
- Let rest for a few minutes before serving, allowing the delicious flavors to meld even further.
Notes
For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
