A colorful and fun Halloween treat, perfect for family gatherings and parties!
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 cups popped popcorn
- 10 oz. bag mini marshmallows
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (purple, green, orange)
- Candy eyeballs
- Halloween sprinkles
Instructions
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter along with the mini marshmallows, brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Stir frequently until the marshmallows have completely melted and the mixture reaches a gentle boil.
- Once melted, divide the warm marshmallow mixture evenly among three large mixing bowls.
- Add about 3 drops of your choice of food coloring to each bowl, mixing until you get a vibrant color.
- To each colored mixture, fold in 4 cups of popped popcorn, ensuring each kernel is coated in the sticky sweetness.
- Lightly coat your hands in water to prevent the popcorn from sticking. Grab a spoonful of each colored popcorn and begin forming balls with your hands.
- Place each formed popcorn ball on a sheet of wax paper to cool and set.
- Once cool, add sprinkles and candy eyeballs for a fun and festive Halloween touch!
Notes
Keep popcorn balls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Coat hands with water to avoid stickiness when shaping.
