Description

Enjoy a comforting Texas Roadhouse-style salmon dish that’s easy to prepare and packed with flavor, perfect for dinner any night of the week.


Ingredients

  • 4 4-oz salmon fillets
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • 4 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Rinse the salmon fillets gently under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and zest from the lemon.
  3. Rub the spice mix on the flesh side of each salmon fillet.
  4. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil once hot.
  5. Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the pan, skin side down, and sear for 3 to 4 minutes.
  6. Flip the salmon fillets over and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet, spooning the melted garlic butter over the salmon.
  8. Squeeze in fresh lemon juice from half of the lemon.
  9. Check the internal temperature of the salmon, aiming for about 125º for medium-rare.
  10. Remove the salmon from the pan and garnish with a fresh lemon wedge.

Notes

For extra flavor, infuse butter with fresh herbs and consider adding a drizzle of balsamic glaze before serving.
