Description

A festive twist on classic Rice Krispies Treats, these Candy Corn Treats blend chewy texture with vibrant colors for a perfect seasonal treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • A big pinch of salt
  • 5 drops yellow food gel
  • 2 1/4 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1 3/4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • A big pinch of salt
  • 5 drops yellow food gel
  • 12 drops red food gel
  • 1 1/4 cups + 2 tablespoons crisp rice cereal
  • 3/4 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • A big pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup crisp rice cereal

Instructions

  1. Spray an 8 or 9-inch cake pan with cooking spray or grease with butter.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows, 2 tablespoons butter, and a pinch of salt. Microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds, then stir until melted; microwave for another 15 seconds if needed.
  3. Whisk in the yellow food gel, then fold in crisp rice cereal until well-blended.
  4. Press the yellow layer around the edges of the pan to create a ring.
  5. For the orange layer, wash the bowl and repeat the process using 1-2 drops of red food gel.
  6. For the white layer, melt the last set of mini marshmallows, butter, and salt in a clean bowl. Mix in crisp rice cereal and press into the center of the pan.
  7. Let cool for at least 2 hours before slicing into triangles.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Use butter on hands for easier mixing and pressing.
