Description

A baked, layered dish of thinly sliced potatoes and browned ground beef topped with creamy mushroom soup and cheddar cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can creamy mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the chopped onion until translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, seasoning with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  4. Combine the creamy mushroom soup and milk in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  5. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased casserole dish, followed by half of the beef mixture, then half of the cheese.
  6. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with cheese on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes after baking to help the layers hold together.
