Description

A comforting and flavorful dish featuring chicken sausage, broccoli, and creamy orzo that’s perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups orzo pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound chicken sausage (sliced)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned.
  3. Toss in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli florets and cook for 2–3 minutes until they start to soften.
  5. Stir in orzo, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover.
  6. Let it cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Consider adding a splash of heavy cream before serving for extra creaminess. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
