Description

A creamy and hearty dish combining classic stroganoff with Cajun-seasoned shrimp, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz fettuccine or egg noodles
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine or egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. Drizzle a little olive oil onto the noodles to prevent sticking.
  2. Season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until blackened and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the onions and mushrooms. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream and let it cook for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Add the cooked pasta and shrimp to the sauce. Toss to combine and heat through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For creamier sauce, add a bit of cream cheese while simmering. Serve with garlic bread or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
