Description
A one-skillet, saucy weeknight supper featuring browned ground beef simmered with diced tomatoes and cream, coating pillowy store-bought gnocchi in a silky sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 package (16 oz) store-bought gnocchi
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, with their juices, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, stirring until combined.
- Add the gnocchi to the skillet, stirring to coat them in the sauce. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the gnocchi are heated through.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
For best results, drain excess fat after browning the beef and heat the sauce gently before adding cream.
