Description

A hearty and comforting stew perfect for family meals, packed with tender beef and flavorful potatoes, all cooked slowly in a crock pot.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs stew meat, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1/2 red onion, chopped
  • 4 potatoes (Russet, peeled and diced)
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup A1 steak sauce (or any brown steak sauce)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp steak seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Chop the red onion and potatoes into bite-size chunks.
  2. Place them into the crock pot.
  3. Top with the stew meat.
  4. Season with minced garlic and steak seasoning.
  5. Pour A1 steak sauce and beef broth over the top and stir well.
  6. Add the lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  7. Combine water and cornstarch in a small bowl, stir into the crock pot for the last hour on low or 30 minutes on high.
  8. Remove and serve in bowls.

Notes

For extra flavor, sear the beef beforehand. Consider pairing with crusty bread and a fresh salad.
