Description
Transform overripe bananas into a delightful, moist banana bread that’s perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
- Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract; mix until evenly blended.
- Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir gently.
- Add flour and stir just until it disappears—do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For a lighter texture, you can use cake flour instead of all-purpose. The riper the banana, the better the bread!
