Description
Quick and flavorful sesame chicken bites that can be made in under 30 minutes, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients

- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp water
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 Tbsp cooking oil
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into small pieces
- 1 large egg
- 2 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 pinch each salt and pepper
- 4 cups cooked jasmine rice
- 2 whole green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce by stirring together soy sauce, water, sesame oil, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, cornstarch, and sesame seeds in a small bowl.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Trim excess fat from the chicken and cut it into small pieces. Toss the chicken in the egg and cornstarch mixture until well coated.
- Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium flame, then add the coated chicken in a single layer.
- Cook undisturbed until golden brown, then flip and continue cooking until golden brown on all sides.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and toss to coat. Simmer until the sauce thickens, then turn off the heat.
- Serve the chicken over jasmine rice and top with sliced green onions.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of orange juice to the sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
