Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 oz large marshmallows (mini marshmallows work too)
  • 8 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ½ cup marshmallow fluff
  • 58 drops green food coloring
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 18 large candy eyes
  • 9 small Tootsie Rolls

Instructions

  1. Melt the Base: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add marshmallows and marshmallow fluff, stirring until completely smooth.
  2. Make it Green: Stir in 5–8 drops of green food coloring until evenly tinted. Add more for a bolder Frankenstein green.
  3. Mix it Up: In a large bowl, combine the marshmallow mixture with Rice Krispies. Work quickly, it sets fast!
  4. Shape the Heads: Press mixture evenly into a greased 9×13 dish. Chill for 15 minutes, then cut into 3×4-inch rectangles.
  5. Add Hair: Melt chocolate chips with vegetable oil in 30-second microwave bursts, stirring between each. Dip the top inch of each treat into chocolate for Frankenstein’s hair. Let set.
  6. Monster Face Time: Use icing to attach candy eyes and draw a mouth. For bolts, cut Tootsie Rolls in half and attach to sides with icing.
  7. Set & Serve: Let icing set before serving.

Notes

Pro Tips: Lightly butter hands or spatula to prevent sticking. Extra green gel food coloring can enhance the color. Make a day ahead for convenience.
