Description

A hearty French Onion Ground Beef and Rice Casserole, perfect for family meals with gooey cheese and tender rice.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 2 (10.5 ounce) cans beef consommé
  • 2 (10.5 ounce) cans French onion soup
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 cups long-grain white rice, uncooked
  • 3/4 cup butter (1 and 1/2 stick)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. Spray a 9 by 13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. In a large skillet, cook ground beef seasoned with garlic salt until browned.
  4. In the baking dish, combine rice and cooked ground beef evenly.
  5. Pour in beef consommé, French onion soup, and water and stir.
  6. Slice butter and place on top of the mixture.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for another 30 minutes until golden.
  9. Fluff rice with a fork before serving.

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
