Description

Skillet-cooked sandwiches of browned ground beef, sweet sautéed onions, and melted provolone cheese, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 oz provolone cheese or cheese whiz
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until translucent.
  3. Cook ground beef in the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper until browned.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Place the cooked beef and onions in the toasted hoagie rolls.
  6. Top with melted provolone cheese or cheese whiz.
  7. Bake sandwiches on a baking sheet for about 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
