Description

Juicy, protein-packed breakfast patties with a hint of sweet-tart blueberries, perfect for busy mornings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound 93 percent lean ground turkey
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients, except for the blueberries and oil, in a large bowl and mix until well combined.
  2. Add in blueberries and gently incorporate them into the meat, taking care not to squash them.
  3. Form mixture into 8 evenly sized patties, about 1/3 inch thick, ensuring blueberries are well tucked in.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to a nonstick skillet and heat over medium heat.
  5. Add turkey patties and cook for about 5 minutes before flipping; cook for another 4-5 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked through.
  6. Serve patties with fried eggs and a drizzle of maple syrup.
