A cozy meal featuring golden-brown turkey sausage patties paired with roasted sweet potato, perfect for any time of day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium to large sweet potato, peeled and diced into cubes
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 clove grated garlic
- 1 medium white onion, finely diced
- 1 teaspoon mixed dried herbs (e.g. Italian blend)
- â…” teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon white pepper
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional)
- A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
- 2 tablespoons tapioca flour (or cassava flour)
Instructions
- Boil a kettle with hot water, add the cubed sweet potato to a pot with boiling water and ½ teaspoon of salt. Cook over medium heat for 10–12 minutes until soft. Strain and set aside to cool.
- Preheat the oven to 200 C / 400 F.
- Mash enough sweet potato to tightly pack 1 cup or so. Combine with all other ingredients (except flour) in a bowl and mix. Add the tapioca or cassava flour and mix until combined.

- Bake the patties for 25–30 minutes until browned on the bottom and golden on top. Cool before transferring to a container, or enjoy immediately.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding spices like cumin or paprika. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge or freeze for up to three months.
