Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the salt, vanilla extract, and eggs one at a time.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- For peppermint cookies, fold in the crushed candy canes; for chocolate crinkles, mix in cocoa powder; for gingerbread men, add the ginger and cinnamon.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are soft.
- Let cool, then dust with confectioners’ sugar or decorate as desired.
