Description

A heartwarming dish combining crispy chicken and buttery biscuits drizzled with sweet and spicy hot honey.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 12 tablespoons hot sauce (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Pour in the milk, mixing until just combined, then roll out the dough and cut into biscuit shapes.
  4. Place biscuits on a lined baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
  5. Marinate chicken tenders in buttermilk for about 30 minutes.
  6. Combine breadcrumbs, paprika, and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Dredge marinated chicken tenders in this mixture.
  7. Fry the chicken tenders in hot oil until golden and crispy, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  8. Heat honey and hot sauce in a saucepan for the drizzle.
  9. Serve crispy fried chicken on warm biscuits and drizzle with hot honey.

Notes

For extra flaky biscuits, use very cold butter and avoid over-mixing the dough.
