Description

A tender cake drizzled with a light custard filling, enveloping you in warmth and coziness.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 150 grams all-purpose flour
  • 100 ml water
  • 100 ml milk
  • 80 grams butter (melted)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 500 ml milk (for custard filling)
  • 150 grams sugar (for custard filling)
  • 100 grams all-purpose flour (for custard filling)
  • 2 large eggs (for custard filling)
  • 180 grams butter (for custard filling)
  • Icing sugar (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine 150 grams of all-purpose flour, 100 ml of water, 100 ml of milk, 80 grams of melted butter, and 4 large eggs. Mix until smooth.
  3. Stir in 1 teaspoon of baking powder and ½ teaspoon of salt.
  4. In a saucepan, gently heat 500 ml of milk and 150 grams of sugar over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Add in 100 grams of flour and 2 eggs, continuing to stir until it transforms into a velvety custard.
  6. Pour half of the cake batter into a greased baking pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  7. Pour the warm custard over the baked base, then top with the remaining cake batter.
  8. Bake for another 30 minutes until golden all over.
  9. Let the cake cool before dusting with icing sugar.

Notes

Serve fresh with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
