- 6 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 4 slices whole grain sourdough bread, toasted
- ¼ lb smoked salmon, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion
- 2 tablespoons capers
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh chives
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, dill, and lemon juice. Stir until well mixed.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, mixing again.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on each slice of toasted bread.
- Top with smoked salmon, red onion, capers, and chives, arranging artfully.
Notes
Use room temperature cream cheese for easier mixing. Keep leftovers stored properly in the fridge for 2-3 days.
