Description

Crispy egg rolls packed with the flavors of a classic cheeseburger, these Cheeseburger Egg Rolls are perfect for family dinners or game-day snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, finely minced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles
  • 1314 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg white, whisked
  • Vegetable oil, for cooking
  • Olive oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat a medium cast iron pan or non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add one tablespoon of oil and the minced onion; sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, cover, and cook until the meat starts to brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in garlic, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, cooking for another minute.
  6. Drain off the grease and juices from the pan, then transfer the beef mixture to a large mixing bowl.
  7. Add the cheese to the bowl and stir until melted and evenly incorporated, then fold in the pickles.
  8. In a deep skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil to about 350 degrees.
  9. Spread about 2 tablespoons of the cheeseburger filling in a line on an egg roll wrapper, leaving about an inch on each side.
  10. Carefully fold the corner closest to you over the filling and tuck it under.
  11. Fold both side corners toward the center of the wrapper, then dip your fingers in egg white and run it along the edges to seal.
  12. Gently roll up the egg roll, ensuring it’s sealed tightly.
  13. Fry the egg rolls in batches until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side, turning once the bottom side turns golden.
  14. Serve with Thousand Island dressing for dipping.

Notes

For a crispy finish, fry the egg rolls in smaller batches. You can use gluten-free wrappers if needed.
