Description

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon poultry seasoning or mixed garlic, rosemary, salt, and onion powder
  • 3 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 teaspoons chicken base or bouillon
  • 10.5 oz can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In your slow cooker, whisk together the chicken base, cream of chicken soup, and water until well combined.
  2. Add the chicken breasts and sprinkle in your poultry seasoning, ensuring the chicken is fully submerged.
  3. Cover with the lid, set your cooker to low, and cook for 4-6 hours.
  4. Once tender, shred the chicken with two forks in the slow cooker.
  5. In a small bowl, stir together the cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of cold water until smooth, then pour into the slow cooker with the shredded chicken.
  6. Turn the cooker to high for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Stir in the sour cream and season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes

Serve over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
