Description

These delightful Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats bring the warm flavors of fall into your kitchen, making them perfect for family gatherings and Halloween parties.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups rice krispies cereal
  • 3 Tbsp salted butter
  • 1 (10 oz) pkg. mini marshmallows
  • Orange gel food coloring
  • 3 pretzel rods (end portions broken off into 2-inch pieces, so you’ll have 6 pieces)
  • 6 mini green airheads or green fondant*
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Measure the rice krispies cereal and pour it into a large bowl.
  2. Melt the butter in a 4-quart non-stick saucepan over medium-low heat, then add the mini marshmallows.
  3. Stir continuously until the marshmallows soften, then incorporate the orange gel food coloring.
  4. Keep stirring until the marshmallows completely melt, then remove from heat.
  5. Transfer the rice krispies cereal into the melted marshmallow mix, gently stirring until coated.
  6. Let the mixture cool slightly, then spray your hands with cooking spray and shape into balls.
  7. Insert a pretzel rod piece into the top of each ball for the pumpkin stem.
  8. Shape leaves from the airhead candy and attach them to the sides of the pumpkins.
  9. Store in an airtight container to keep them fresh.

Notes

To enhance flavor, add a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice into the melted marshmallows. Ensure to coat your hands with non-stick spray for easy shaping.
