Description

A decadent cheesecake that combines the rich, creamy texture of cheesecake with the comforting flavor of apple pie, topped with a luxurious salted caramel drizzle.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 24 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 cups peeled and sliced apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for caramel)
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter (for caramel)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for caramel)
  • 1 tsp sea salt (for caramel)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until combined. Press into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan and bake for 10 minutes. Let it cool slightly.
  3. Toss together the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Spread over the cooled crust.
  4. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract and sour cream, mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the cheesecake mixture over the apple layer and bake for approximately 60-70 minutes until the center is almost set. Let it cool completely.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  7. For the salted caramel sauce, melt the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until amber in color. Add butter, stir until melted, and slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring. Stir in sea salt.
  8. Drizzle the cooled salted caramel sauce over the chilled cheesecake before serving.

Notes

For a creamier cheesecake, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before mixing. You can also freeze the cheesecake for up to three months.
