Description

A delightful salted caramel cake that combines sweet and salty flavors in a moist, fluffy cake, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 2 cups caramel buttercream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk. Stir until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for a few minutes, then turn out onto wire racks.
  8. Layer the cakes with caramel buttercream and drizzle with salted caramel.
  9. Decorate the top with caramel buttercream and more salted caramel before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of espresso powder to the batter. Store in an airtight container for up to five days in the refrigerator or freeze for three months.
