A playful twist on the classic Caprese salad, featuring mozzarella skulls and vibrant tomatoes, perfect for Halloween gatherings.
Ingredients
- Cherry tomatoes
- Cocktail tomatoes
- Pearl mozzarella balls (for mini skulls)
- Regular mozzarella balls (for larger skulls)
- Organic extra virgin olive oil
- Organic balsamic vinegar
- Organic balsamic glaze
- Flaky salt
- Ground black pepper
Instructions
- Fill mini silicone molds with pearl mozzarella cheese, pressing firmly to hold shape. Do the same with regular mozzarella balls in larger skull molds.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and place molds in a baking dish. Bake for about 8 minutes to soften cheese.
- Let mozzarella cool for 5 minutes, then pop out of molds and refrigerate for another 5-10 minutes to firm up.
- In a mixing bowl, combine diced cherry and cocktail tomatoes, then add cooled cheese skulls.
- Drizzle with organic extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, add balsamic glaze, and toss in fresh basil. Season with flaky salt and pepper.
- Chill until ready to serve and enjoy!
Notes
Adjust mozzarella skull sizes based on molds available. Drizzle balsamic glaze before serving for presentation.
