A playful twist on a classic Caprese salad, featuring spooky-shaped mozzarella and fresh tomatoes, perfect for Halloween gatherings.
Ingredients

- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 1 cup cocktail tomatoes
- 1 cup pearl mozzarella balls (for mini skulls)
- 1 cup regular mozzarella balls (for larger skulls)
- 3 tablespoons organic extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons organic balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon organic balsamic glaze
- Flaky salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Press the pearl mozzarella balls into mini silicone molds and the larger mozzarella balls into bigger molds, filling them up firmly.
- Place the filled molds in a baking dish and bake for about 8 minutes until just melted.
- Let the cheese cool for about 5 minutes, then refrigerate for 5-10 minutes to firm up.
- Chop the cherry and cocktail tomatoes into bite-sized pieces and toss them in a large bowl.
- Remove the cheese from the molds and add to the bowl of tomatoes.
- Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and finish with balsamic glaze, fresh basil, flaky salt, and black pepper.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
Let the salad sit for about 30 minutes after assembling to enhance the flavors. For extra crunch, consider adding toasted pine nuts or pumpkin seeds.
