Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large, clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer on medium speed until frothy.
- Add the cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and green food coloring until well combined.
- Transfer the meringue mixture to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe the meringue into tree shapes onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 1.5 hours or until the meringues are crisp and can easily lift off the parchment.
