Deliciously thick chocolate chip cookies with crispy edges and gooey centers, loaded with rich chocolate for a comforting treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large eggs
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
- 3 cups chocolate chips (semisweet and dark mix recommended)
- Optional: extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, blend the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat in the eggs one at a time until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and gently fold until just combined.
- Cover the bowl and chill the dough for at least one hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Using a large cookie scoop, drop dough balls onto the baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers are soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Use a kitchen scale for accurate measurements, and try chilling the dough overnight for even thicker cookies.
