Description

Deliciously thick chocolate chip cookies with crispy edges and gooey centers, loaded with rich chocolate for a comforting treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • 3 cups chocolate chips (semisweet and dark mix recommended)
  • Optional: extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, blend the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat in the eggs one at a time until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and gently fold until just combined.
  4. Cover the bowl and chill the dough for at least one hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Using a large cookie scoop, drop dough balls onto the baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers are soft.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Use a kitchen scale for accurate measurements, and try chilling the dough overnight for even thicker cookies.
