- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan to ensure easy removal after baking.
- Mash the bananas until smooth; the more ripe they are, the easier they will be to mash.
- Stir in the sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Mix the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in another bowl.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just blended.
- Mix the softened cream cheese with a tablespoon of sugar until smooth.
- Pour half of the banana bread batter into the greased loaf pan.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the batter.
- Add the remaining banana bread batter on top, covering the cream cheese completely.
- Swirl the batter gently with a knife.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Ensure bananas are very ripe for best flavor and moisture. Allow loaf to cool before slicing for clean cuts.
