- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the ground beef with the chopped onion in a skillet until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
- Mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until smooth.
- Layer half the sliced potatoes in a greased 9’x13′ baking dish.
- Spread half of the ground beef mixture over the potatoes, then half of the cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Ensure potatoes are sliced evenly for uniform cooking. Don’t rush the browning of the meat to build flavor.
