Description

Quick and flavorful air fryer falafel that’s crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional: lemon juice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a food processor. Blend until a coarse mixture forms.
  2. Add olive oil and pulse a few more times to combine; it should feel a bit sticky to the touch.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls or patties, ensuring they’re not too dense.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Place falafel in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  6. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve hot with tahini sauce or in pita bread with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Ensure chickpeas are well-drained for the best texture. Adjust spices according to taste and serve with fresh salads or sauces.
