Ingredients

- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional: lemon juice, for serving
Instructions
- Combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a food processor. Blend until a coarse mixture forms.
- Add olive oil and pulse a few more times to combine; it should feel a bit sticky to the touch.
- Shape the mixture into small balls or patties, ensuring they’re not too dense.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place falafel in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve hot with tahini sauce or in pita bread with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Ensure chickpeas are well-drained for the best texture. Adjust spices according to taste and serve with fresh salads or sauces.
