Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup olives, chopped
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper until softened, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef, cooking it until browned and no longer pink.
  5. Stir in the diced tomatoes, olives, raisins, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  6. Let everything simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  7. Serve hot over a bed of rice.

Notes

For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes.
