A hearty casserole that combines ground beef, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese for a quick and delicious meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 Onion
- 8 oz Mushrooms
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 cup Beef Broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- 6 oz Swiss Cheese
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 4 pieces Hamburger Buns
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- to taste Salt
- to taste Pepper
- 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a wide pan until it shimmers across the surface.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and ground beef, cooking until the beef is browned, breaking it up into small pieces.
- Mix in the mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Cook for another 5 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and fragrant.
- Pour in the beef broth, then season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the liquid thickens slightly.
- Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream with half of the shredded Swiss cheese.
- Layer the cooked beef mixture in a baking dish, followed by the sour cream mixture. Top with the remaining Swiss cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
Allow the ground beef to brown fully for enhanced flavor. Add sour cream slowly to prevent curdling.
