Description

A hearty casserole that combines ground beef, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese for a quick and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 Onion
  • 8 oz Mushrooms
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 6 oz Swiss Cheese
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 4 pieces Hamburger Buns
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a wide pan until it shimmers across the surface.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and ground beef, cooking until the beef is browned, breaking it up into small pieces.
  4. Mix in the mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Cook for another 5 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and fragrant.
  5. Pour in the beef broth, then season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the liquid thickens slightly.
  6. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream with half of the shredded Swiss cheese.
  8. Layer the cooked beef mixture in a baking dish, followed by the sour cream mixture. Top with the remaining Swiss cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

Allow the ground beef to brown fully for enhanced flavor. Add sour cream slowly to prevent curdling.
