- 2 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 4 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Provolone cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
- Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and beef broth to the pot.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 480 minutes or until the beef is tender.
- Remove the beef and shred it with two forks, taking care to soak up the juices.
- Return the shredded beef to the pot and stir to combine with the juices.
- Serve the beef on hoagie rolls and top with provolone cheese if desired.
- Serve with a small bowl of the cooking liquid for dipping.
Notes
Browning the roast adds depth of flavor. Adjust seasoning as needed to prevent overpowering saltiness.
