- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika (Regular paprika can be used.)
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt (Adjust to taste.)
- 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs (Use gluten-free for gluten-free version.)
- Fresh Herbs (Use parsley or cilantro.)
- 1 tablespoon Cooking Spray or Oil (Ensure crispiness in air fryer.)
Instructions
- Prepare the Tofu: After pressing the tofu, cut it into cubes and place it in a mixing bowl.
- Mix Ingredients: Add nutritional yeast, soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Combine until the tofu is evenly coated.
- Form Balls: With your hands, form the mixture into small balls, roughly the size of a golf ball.
- Coat with Panko: Roll each tofu ball in panko breadcrumbs until well-coated.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Heat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Cook: Spray the basket with cooking spray, place the balls in a single layer, and cook for 12-15 minutes, turning halfway through until golden brown.
Notes
Ensure to press the tofu well for the best texture. Nutritional yeast can be increased for a cheesier flavor.
